The PSP Emulator:
First make sure your PC meets the minimum requirements:
Windows 32bit or 64bit / Linux 32bit or 64bit / Mac OSX
CPU: Pentium 4 and up
GPU: Any graphic card supporting OpenGL 2.0 and up
1GB RAM
Better results provided with better specs.
What you will need:
- Java Runtime Environment, LATEST version. Google it.
- JPCSP itself: http://buildbot.orphis.net/jpcsp/
- SonicStage, this is used for audio decompiling: http://support.sony-europe.com/dna/downloads/downloads.aspx?l=es&f=sstage_dl
Alright, now that you got all that make sure to update your graphics card drivers so you can have the best performance.
Install SonicStage in your computer. It is absolutely required or else you won't have music or sound in your games.
Now extract the JPCSP archive somewhere and run it. Go to Options -> Configuration, on the window go to the Media tab and enable the following:
-Enable Media Engine
-Decode Audio files with SonicStage
-Use non-native fonts from flash0 folder.
If you have problems with a certain game then look for the best config on the forums: http://www.emunewz.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?fid=51
You're almost ready to go! But I know you're just gonna pirate PSP games so the next post will teach you how to run pirated games on JPCSP.
Pirated PSP games have the Prometheus patch applied. Since emulator developers do not support piracy, the JPCSP team made the emu to detect the patch and not run the game to force you to dump your own copy. However removing the patch is easy as fuck.
Get UMDGen (Google it) and run it. Open your PSP ISO and follow the instructions:
-Go to the SYSDIR folder under PSP_GAME
-Rename EBOOT.BIN as anything else
-Rename EBOOT.OLD as EBOOT.BIN
-Rename the first EBOOT you renamed into EBOOT.OLD
You should NOT delete any files or the game won't work (Ys Seven does this for instance)
Save the ISO as you want. If you want to save disk space you can save is as a CSO, it will work just fine on JPCSP.
That's it, you're ready to play. Some notes:
-If you want a bigger screen go to Options->Video->Resize->2x. Maximizing the window, 3x resize and Full Screen glitch the screen.
-Playing with a joypad must be done through Joy2Key, JPCSP doesn't support any joypads
-Your game WILL have glitches or may not work, you'll have to deal with it as PSP emulation is still on its infancy. Many games are perfectly playable though.
