This person went to ufotable's lecture thing at Waseda University, and this is his bullet list of things that were discussed.
Photography and taping were prohibited, so he had to write stuff down by hand. He says it's likely he misheard things or left things out because he was focused on recording things he was personally interested in.
A lot of things were discussed, but it was mostly about Type-Moon stuff.
Upcoming events in the Fate/Zero anime were discussed, so there are spoilers following this.
・ufotable's staff is comprised of approximately 120 people; of those, 80 are key animators
・Fate/Zero's photography is currently at episode 9
・Kunihiro-san animated Lancer's action scenes in ep 4
・Kara no Kyoukai movie 5 was originally planned to be 70 minutes long but ended up being 112
・Shishido-san is in charge of Sakura and Kariya-ojisan's worm animation (awwwwww yeaaaaaaah)
・Starting December 12th, ufotable shop is having a two week long sale of previously sold out merch
・Fate/Zero started with the desire to bring KnK's quality to TV (lol DEEN)
・A portion of Caster+Uryuu's antics in their hideout were cut from episode 6's broadcast because they didn't want kids to see it
Some voiced parts were also cut
Everything that has been cut will be on the BDs
・The guro is not supposed to be a selling point
They portray everything that can't be avoided, but they don't exaggerate any nastiness
・There are abrupt cuts to trees (lol?) during the Einzbern forest and Caster scenes in ep 7, but please put up with them
More voiced parts were cut
These cuts were self-imposed
・Examples of scenes that were cut for various reasons and will be on the BD
Episode 2: Ilya and Kiritsugu saying goodbye
Episode 3: Iri and Saber at the airport discussing whether or not their clothes are out of place
Episode 6: Gil and Kirei discussing their principles
Episode 7: A conversation between Iri and Saber | Confrontation between Saber and Kiritsugu
A lot of Episode 7 has been shaved down
・Excalibur was actually animated and was then covered up with the CG used for Invisible Air
・The same thing was done with Berserker; the supervising animator fixed him up and everything
The CG is placed on top of that animation and then photos that were used are processed
Kunihiro-san was in charge of Berserker's animation in ep 5
・Cries of "You're only giving us two cuts of Berserker to work with per day, please hurry up!" were heard from the photography team
・Kayneth's formal wear in episode 8 was all taken from the surrounding scenery which was annoying/tiresome (i have no idea what that means but who cares about gayneth anyway)
・A lot of discussion was had over the idea of wanting F/Z to "be that anime series you look forward to every week"
・Reason F/Z is released in a BD box:
It's a show they want you to watch all at once, not volume by volume (why two boxes then lol)
Impossible to include all the extras [52 page pamphlet, bonus footage, and other great stuff] at the typical price of individual volumes
・Where F/Z is in production
The scenario is complete | continuity has made it to around ep 20
Production is moving along as planned and is doing well
・The BD version of episode 1 has 90 cuts [← he's not confident that's the exact number]
Episodes 2 and 3 each have 10 cuts that have been redone
If you want to watch the TV version you should record it [because you're getting something different with the BD]
・No plans for a Fate/stay night anime remake (SHIT SUX)
・Progress is slowly but surely being made on Girls' Work
・F/Z's manga version isn't an adaptation of the novel, it's an adaptation of the anime
They left the scenario, continuity, creation, etc of it up to the manga-ka
・What ufotable is going to do now: Continue working on various parts of F/Z
And that's about it.
The person who wrote it wants people who also attended to point out things that he got wrong. (same goes for me, tl-wise)
